September 14, 2013 will always have a special place in my heart. It is the day my best friend asked me to be his wife… and without the slightest hesitation I said yes! I cherish the thoughtfulness of our friends and family who were there to encourage and support us in our decision that night, and the way they have all along and still do today; the night would not have been the same without them! So much has changed since last year: we got MARRIED almost 4 months ago, had the most amazing honeymoon in Naples, Florida, have started our own home and branch of the family, and have grown more in love every day. When I look back and reflect, I am in complete awe of our Father and all of His faithfulness. I am so thankful that our Creator has molded and grown us to be the other’s biggest encourager, truest friend, and forever love. This year we have started learning the responsibility of having a home, while trying to balance going to school full-time and working on and off-campus jobs. We could not do it without God’s grace and the help of our families! We do not pretend to be perfect and definitely don’t have things all together, but we are walking through life together, intimately with each other and our Savior. I love learning to create a nurturing, clean, and comfortable home. I love seeing Duncan train our dog, mow the yard, and be the man that God has called him to be. I love learning to love an imperfect person more each day and to see him fully and with total admiration, as Christ sees him. We celebrated our “one year since we got engaged” spending the morning together relaxing and having breakfast, then going to Nakatos (which is where we went the night of our engagement). The little things, like sleeping in together and sharing meals together, are some of the sweetest times. I treasure the times we laugh and cry together. I am blessed beyond words for all the small things that true love does: leaving notes when you know your significant other is having a rough day; love spends twenty minutes picking out the best candle for your home together; it is taking the time to drop everything, every ounce of stress and worry, and lift your spouse up in prayer; it’s valuing each other enough to dream together often, not be so focused on your own personal agenda, and humbly recognize when your love needs a back scratch. Life is sweeter with you, Duncan Tillack, and I love being your Mrs.
Overwhelmed by the Lord’s provision, moments after saying YES to this man!
One of the most surreal, breathtaking moments.
